wound care

Non healing wounds require specialized care and a team approach because underlying complex conditions prevent the wound from going through the expected healing stages. The longer a chronic wound goes untreated; the greater the risk of infection, amputation, tissue loss and other complications.

Wounds require specialized care by providers with specialized training that understand what a chronic wound needs to heal and how to heal it faster, better and with more durable tissue that is less likely to reoccur. Treating a wound requires a team of specialists; PCP, vascular, infectious disease, endocrinology, rehabilitation and PT. Dr. Marchese is specifically trained to treat wounds and is part of a comprehensive team.

Who you choose to treat your wound makes all the difference. Every foot doctor can treat a wound but not every foot doctor is specially trained to do so. Specialty care can save a limb.

Time is tissue the early a wound is treated the better chances of salvage.
