diabetic foot

It’s a harsh reality of statistic Diabetes: 80,000 adults with diabetes undergo amputation due to non healing wound every year. 80% of which started with an ulcer. Every 3 minutes & 30 seconds there is a lower extremity amputation in the USA.

In 2024, 38 million people had diabetes. That is 11.6% of the US population and 15% of these patients will go on to a Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU).

DFU are the main cause of LEA and 80% of LEA are preceded by DFU. 15% of the LEA go onto a higher amputation.

Roughly 15% of patients with diabetes myelitis will get a diabetic foot ulcer.

Don’t be a statistic get an exam. Prevention is easier than being a statistic. Prevention can preserve a limb.
